Besides kitchen/bathrooms What else to Increase Value?

    I do not sell houses for a living, but I am thinking that you want to make sure the the house has has modern windows, and that the house is properly insulated.

    I also think that you need to have a new roof on the house, if you live in a wet environment.

    Good Article on Budget Improvements

    Assuming that everyone is on a tight budget right now as far as improving real estate goes (I know I am), you might be interested in this article with 7 cheap ways to get it sold (or rented).
    It verges on staging at points, but anything to help stop the monthly hemorrhaging to the lender, right?
    One other thought: if you can find a way of adding another bedroom (such as a room on the first floor currently used an office or den, etc), that can boost value as well.

    We have added air to the center of our old Victorian. Normally, the old houses have central air, so we hope that the next Old Family Room really appreciate it and we will easily recoop costs.
