The AT&T-Time Warner deal was influenced by streaming services (TWX, T)

    On Tuesday, federal judge Richard Leon ruled AT&T can move forward with its $85 billion acquisition of Time Warner without any conditions or divestitures, The Wall Street Journal reports.

    The deal had been pending since October 2016, and faced roadblocks including the US Justice Department, which sued to block the deal in November 2017. At the time, the Justice Department argued the AT&T-Time Warner merger would hurt competition and raise prices for consumers; Leon said the Justice Department failed to provide sufficient proof for these claims in Tuesday’s ruling.
