The US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) started accepting applications for its fintech charter that would allow fintechs to pay checks, lend money, and hold deposits, earlier this month — a move that was backed by the US Department of the Treasury.[IMG]Business Insider Intelligence

It has now invited interested parties to come to its office in New York to talk about the project during innovation office hours. The startups will be encouraged to discuss new products and services, as well as partnerships with other fintechs. The meetings will last for one hour, and interested parties only have until August 17 to request such a meeting. They will take place during a span of only 3 days, meaning there is likely limited space.
